Just out here surviving, in hopes of thriving in such uncertain times.
Challenge Accepted:
Finding balance with a full time and part time job, staying connected to community and relationships
First competition on the 20kgs, 10’ Long Cycle and and achieved CMS (Candidate of Master of Sport) with 60 reps, 1st place
Bought first gravel bike (named her Windfola) and took my first bikepacking trip with Ampersands Bike Club, over 100 miles round trip
Recovered from major surgery and spent summer reading on the porch and taking lots of slow recovery walks
Moved into our new home, after living in the same place for 7 years, which meant a lot of work to move, get rid of and clean up things
The Ups
Reconnecting with old friends through regular Facetimes, Rocket League sessions and going to fitness classes together
Getting in over 300 miles on the new gravel bike
Having all of our immediate family visit in the same year
The Downs
Feeling like I missed out on a good portion of summer (but getting much needed recovery)
Having my voice get lost when it came to standing up for community care
The general state of the world, yeah?
